I recently made a shopping trip for some new clothes. I noticed two things wearing out in my closet: shoes and handbags.

After looking at the shoes and handbags in my closet, I realized that they could have lasted a little longer if they were real leather. In a place like Seattle, cheap shoes don’t stand a chance to puddles and wet grass on the way to the bus. Have you noticed how fast jeans wear out too?

For my future reference, I’ve made a list on what to buy cheap, and what to splurge on.

The Cheap List:

  • Jeans
  • Sweaters
  • Shirts
  • Jackets (for the quantity of patterns and colors)
  • Accessories
  • Trendy Items

The Splurge List:

  • Handbags
  • Shoes
  • Jackets (quality)
  • Pants

What do you spend or save on in your wardrobe?
