On the evening of December 11th, Verity launched our new website. It has a different look – but all the same security you would expect from the financial institution. The new website is more dynamic, and we have cleaned up a lot of the copy so it should be easier to navigate and find what you need. We have also added a brand new search function with integrated FAQs to make it simple to search for what you need, when you need it. The FAQs are ever-growing, so if you search and don’t find what you are looking for, please let us know (there is a place within the search to send us your question if it wasn’t instantly answered) and as we receive more questions, we can add them to the database to make the search more robust and functional moving forward. Your participation can make us stronger!

Check it out at veritycu.com and let us know what you think. I hope you love it as much as we do.

Melina Young

My name is Melina Young and I am the director of marketing at Verity Credit Union. I love everything to do with marketing, advertising, public relations and social media – especially all the research that goes into making a product or service really work for our members and making sure the right people hear about it. In addition to my time spent marketing, I have a blog and write about celiac disease, which I was diagnosed with in 2010. Basically, I can’t eat any of those foods we all love that are made with wheat, barley or rye.

I have also recently started running and completed my first 5k in 2011. Some people may not know that I used to do a lot of acting, dancing and singing in my life. I was in a Nike commercial with Gary Payton in junior high (if anyone ever finds the footage please send it my way!) and I used to compete as an opera singer in high school. I almost majored in musical theater in college, but I’m very glad with my decision to study marketing!

I really hate this new website. I sign in with my ID and 5 minutes now I am still WAITING to be logged in!!! What is going on?!!!

Hi Marilyn, thank you for letting us know about the problem you are experiencing logging into Online Branch using the new website. We have not changed anything with our Online Branch (the link and login information are all the same) so it may just be a connection issue with the browser or internet connection you were using at the time of trying to log in. However, just in case, I have passed the information along to our IT department and our vendors so that we can make sure there isn’t a bigger issue at play here. Thank you for letting us know of the problem you experienced so we can work to make our systems as effective and efficient as possible.

It seems cleaner, but the image on the front takes up too much room. The font is also quite large. It feels like it’s geared towards an older crowd.

Thanks for your feedback, member. The website was formatted for a large screen so it will adjust with the changing times and will stay relevant longer. This could make it feel like it is a little larger on the screen. You should be able to adjust the font size on your browser if it helps. Here is a link to a page that explains how this can be done. I hope it helps the site seem more appealing to you: http://it.language101.com/usability/make-text-bigger/
