Can I just tell you all, I have been having such a blast working on the Verity branding recently. The marketing department has spent countless hours on this new “evolution” for months now, and I am bursting with excitement being able to share this with you all today! We can’t even really call it an “evolution.” We have just really been working hard to ensure that the inside and outside of Verity match and everyone can see the greatness that we staff get to live every day. So, without further ado…here are the items you will be seeing in the world starting today!
One of the first things you will likely notice is a change to our logo. This will be live on our website as early as today and transitioning throughout the organization over time. Here is a sneak peek: what do you think?
The next pieces of Verity’s evolution will take a little more time to notice. We are refining our focus to have a greater concentration on truth and the community.
Credit unions began as a way for local communities to bond together for the good of the group. We want to get back to those roots. Verity is focusing more on the communities where we have branches and working to make a difference there. At Verity, it isn’t about being as big as possible, it’s about doing our best for our members and helping our communities grow and thrive.
Back in 2004, the name “Verity” was chosen because it means truth. We are bringing truth to the forefront of everything we do and want to incorporate the feedback and opinions of our members to make Verity your credit union.
Bringing it Together
To unite “truth” and “community,” we asked some local artists to use their talents to showcase what truth means to them in their own medium. We have four new commercials showcasing these local artists that will be public soon. Here is a sneak peek:
We are so excited to share Verity’s new look and message with our communities. Hopefully, you are as well. What do you think about what you have seen here? We would love your feedback!
My name is Melina Young and I am the director of marketing at Verity Credit Union. I love everything to do with marketing, advertising, public relations and social media – especially all the research that goes into making a product or service really work for our members and making sure the right people hear about it. In addition to my time spent marketing, I have a blog and write about celiac disease, which I was diagnosed with in 2010. Basically, I can’t eat any of those foods we all love that are made with wheat, barley or rye.
I have also recently started running and completed my first 5k in 2011. Some people may not know that I used to do a lot of acting, dancing and singing in my life. I was in a Nike commercial with Gary Payton in junior high (if anyone ever finds the footage please send it my way!) and I used to compete as an opera singer in high school. I almost majored in musical theater in college, but I’m very glad with my decision to study marketing!
