An Oregon retailer is scheduled to occupy the old Walmart building.

Coastal Farm & Ranch, one of the largest retail supply chains in the Pacific Northwest, has recently purchased the former Walmart store located at 1425 Supermall Way in Auburn, WA. They’re based out of Albany, OR and have been a part of the farm and ranch community since 1963.

You can download a Job Application from their website by clicking here: Work for Coastal Farm & Ranch. They are looking for employees who “want to be a part of a terrific team of people who love the farm and ranch lifestyle, know how to work hard and have fun at the same time and enjoy giving great customer service.” I’ve been told that they plan on opening in a few months (they don’t have an actual date set yet).

This should be a big boost to the Auburn economy!

I really hope that this doesn’t drive another hometown Auburn business, Del’s Farm Supply under. Especially, since the Auburn store is right around the corner from where this new farm supply will be located. I wonder if Wal-Mart and the Auburn Counsel really thought this through. It would be a shame to sacrifice one small business for another just to fill a building and fulfill a contract.
