HR Consultant

Hi, I’m Daryl. My title at Verity is Human Resources Consultant. People inquire, “Oh, you’re a contracted consultant?” And I respond, “No, I am an employee. Think of me as a generalist.” I do recruiting, benefits administration, employee/manager consultations, and projects that promote Verity’s Visions and Values. I prefer to think of it as advocating for the credit unions strategic goals, while helping individuals reach their needs and aspirations. It’s not a job, it’s a passion. The best parts of my work are the excitement of hiring new people, and helping those already here to engage in their professional development.

Speaking of passions I love music, and graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a Bachelor’s in Music Composition. This means I write music and hope someday to have more than just a Facebook and MySpace profile. I also have a driving need to learn, so I’m currently enrolled at Seattle University for an MBA. Basically I enjoy working both sides of the brain. Oh, I’m also going to Western CUNA Management School, and look forward to graduating this year. In my spare time I enjoy connecting with friends, reading and writing, and finding the most random things on the internet.

Most people don’t know that I performed at the Minnesota State Fair in a talent competition when I was sixteen. I wrote an original song, but was beat out by a Huey Lewis and the News cover-band. Lesson learned: give the people what they want to hear.
