Photo of A Sad Farewell

Seven months ago, I wrote a happy blog post about Josh Dickerson and his apparent victory over cancer

Today I write a much sadder post.

A few months ago, Josh went for his routine check-up and learned that his cancer was back in full force.

He passed away on Friday.

Everyone at Verity is devastated. We’ve known Josh since he was a little kid, coming around to sell candy bars to support whatever team he was playing on at the time. We watched him grow into an impressive young man and amazing athlete. His strength and grace touched us all and he will be missed.

Diana, I was so sad to hear the news of Josh's passing. When I worked at Auburn we were all pulling so hard for him to get better. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss.

My deepest condolences for the Dickerson's and what they are going through. I can relate because I almost lost my own mother to cancer last year. Diana, my heart goes out to you and Kiyohiko. Josh will always be with you both; your beautiful guardian angel.
