As the Verity Mom search is moving into full swing, we have gotten the question, "What about dads?" This came up in the last round too(we had questions about Verity Grandma as well) and we respond with a resounding, "Yes!" to all of these questions when they come in.

We have heard numerous stories about wildly creative, funny, talented dads who would make a perfect candidate for our contest.

We would love to see a dad apply. It would great! Remember to get your submissions in by October 11, 2011 at noon at veritymom.com

Why not make it for "Verity Parents (grand or otherwise)" instead of keeping the title as Verity Moms?

Thanks for the suggestion Lyn. We will keep that in mind for the next time we run the contest!

Aren't single people who have chosen to contribute to society in different ways eligible to write columns?

Hi WB, if there are any single people who would like to, and feel they would be the best at, blogging about family activities in the Seattle-area, we would be happy to accept their application. If someone can make an argument for why they feel they are the best candidate for Verity Mom, we will take their application and review it with the others.

It is just my observation, but it seems like Verity Mom is Ms. Storm's self serving attempt to promote herself and her book.

One vote for Verity Dads here!

Nick - Verity made the decision to target moms because moms make 83% of the household spending decisions. They are also the major influence on where their children will do their banking when they get older. Moms are active online and use social media to make referrals. When our board of directors decided to focus on this market in 2008, we agreed that my exposure as an author would help the credit union reach the mom community.
