Mahatma Gandhi was a disciplined man. Before he went to bed each night, he took account of his financial transactions from the day (how much he received and how much he spent). He required this process of every organization that he was in charge of. He noted in his autobiography, "The Story of My Experiments with Truth," that he never knew anyone who practiced this habit of daily financial accountability who was in debt. It's worth trying.
