Apparently, the once common "Thank You Wave" is so last decade.

Remember when you'd be driving and another driver let you change lanes to be in front of him or her? Then, without even thinking, you would wave your hand in front of the rear view mirror to say thanks. How long has it been since you've seen someone do that?

I drove to work twice this week and thought I'd put it to the test. I stopped so that someone could back out of a parking space in a very crowded garage. Guess what? No "thank you" of any kind from that driver.

I then let 4 different drivers cut in front of me on the freeway (not all at once ... I'd get a different hand signal from the drivers behind me if I did that!). Only 1 of them gave me the "Thank You Wave."

Conclusion: It's not completely gone, but I hope it won't soon be forgotten.
